The George Hewitt Myers Award honors lifetime achievements and exceptional contributions in the field of textile arts. The award, named for The Textile Museum’s founder and given by The Textile Museum’s Board of Trustees, is recognized as the highest international accolade in the field of textile arts.
The 2026 honoree of the George Hewitt Myers Award is Parviz Tanavoli. Join us online as museum trustees Bruce Baganz and Wendel Swan honor Tanavoli’s contributions to textile studies. During the presentation, participants will see many examples of textiles that Tanavoli has collected and learn how they were used in Persian tribal cultures.
